About Me

My Practice

Creating mixed media abstract paintings that are inspired by nature and fuelled with emotion. I find that my practice is a journey of endless possibilities where I can explore, experiment and learn. That is what my creativity feeds off.

The main inspiration of my work comes from nature or my surrounding environment that is often captured through photography. I use these as a source material or to use as part of collages to inform my paintings. Quite often surface texture and working in layers plays a part in my creation of art. To achieve this I build up layers of paint or add fabrics, wood and found objects to add depth.

I also cannot resist exploring other medias like drawing, collage, digital media and textiles that form a lot of my sketchbook work which help initiate and inspire paintings.

Biography

I have always had a passion for creating since I was young and this has only ever grown into where I am today. Born in Stockport, Manchester I have focused on art throughout my education where I went onto completing an art foundation and achieving a Diploma in Fine Art at De Montfort University, Leicester. It was here that I found my confidence in my painting with having done exhibitions as part of my course and decided that it was something I wanted to pursue further.

After finishing university in 2019, I moved back to Manchester and did a work placement that summer at Saul Hay Fine Art Gallery. I then went onto doing a paid commission at a nearby school whilst exhibiting in a show at Pineapple Black in Middlesbrough. In May 2022 I moved to Birmingham for two and half years working whilst on the side starting to build up a portfolio of work. I then finally returned to Manchester in February 2025.
